Takayuki Takeya comments
I am honored to be involved in the KAIJU REMIX series, following in the footsteps of my esteemed friend Yasushi Nichisawa. I was born in the same year as Nichisawa (1963), and as most of you know, my childhood was influenced by the era of epoch-making creations such as tokusatsu and manga. The opening of Ultraman made a particularly strong impression on me (starting with Ultra Q), and the first word I ever wrote was “Ultraman. Of course, I was also fascinated by Ultraseven, and even after all these years, I am still fascinated by the many monster designs of ......, such as Windom, Miklas and other capsule monsters, Eleking, King Joe, and so on. It is a sobering feeling to take over from Yasushi Nichisawa, but above all, I think it is important to enjoy the project to the fullest! I would be grateful if people of various generations could enjoy what I have arranged with respect to the original!
This time, I designed Windom with an arrangement concept that emphasizes the fact that it is a support weapon for Ultra Seven. It was a creature from some other planet, but it must have been modified for various reasons (......). In my memory, Windom was often defeated, but I wanted to equip it with a powerful weapon, so I equipped its back with two pieces of equipment in the same family as the Ice Lugger. I wanted to equip Windom with a powerful weapon, which I remember him losing a lot, so I put two pieces of equipment on his back to strengthen his fighting power. However, I also wanted to keep the unattractive mood of the Windom , so I arranged the figure with the underlying theme of “I would be very happy to have a partner like this. Yoshiki Fujimoto was in charge of modeling, and he created the figure 100% digitally. I am extremely grateful to him for taking my crude arrangement drawings and enhancing them to a wonderful degree of perfection!
I've been enjoying watching this CG-animated figure playing with the Guts aliens in my mind's eye.
